Dr. Talmo’s practice is dedicated to the highest quality of care available for the treatment of his patients’ bone and j oint disorders. Dr. Talmo and his staff take tremendous pride in their work, with the single goal of providing their patients with the safest and most effective cutting-edge treatments available and superior, long-lasting results.

Dr. Talmo’s practice specializes in the comprehensive treatment of arthritis and other disorders of the hip and knee. Dr. Talmo is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is also fellowship trained, having completed the prestigious program in hip and knee surgery and research at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harris Orthopaedic Biomechanics and Biomaterials Laboratory.

While care of the hip and knee are his main specialty, Dr. Talmo also treats patients with arthritic conditions of the shoulder and ankle and fractures and other traumatic injuries.

Dr. Talmo specializes in joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee, including minimally invasive surgery, as well as hip resurfacing and complex revision total joint replacement surgery. He was one of the first surgeons in the Boston area to carefully adopt and perform hip resurfacing, integrating the procedure into his everyday practice for appropriate patients.

Dr. Talmo and his patients have access to an excellent support staff at the New England Baptist Hospital, a regional and national center of excellence, and a hospital internationally renowned for joint replacement and orthopedic procedures. Dr. Talmo is also fortunate to work with other surgeons, fellows and residents, nurses and operating room personnel at NEBH that share his goals and interests.

Dr. Talmo is involved in training fellows taking part in the prestigious Otto E. Aufranc hip and knee reconstructive program at NEBH. He is involved in numerous clinical and academic research projects in hip and knee replacement surgery and collaborates routinely with the New England Baptist Hospital’s Department of Orthopedic Research. Dr. Talmo played a pivotal role in the development of a joint registry at NEBH which allows for large scale studies and outcomes. These endeavors allow our patients’ treatment’s to be enriched, as Dr. Talmo and his colleagues are continuously involved in identifying and promoting better treatments and results.

Dr. Talmo’s office is located in the New England Baptist Hospital so that he may be in close proximity to his recovering patients, carefully overseeing and maximizing their postoperative care.
